The Arena

Ranked 1v1, 2v2 and 3v3 fights in your own gear. Queue alone or with friends, climb from Bronze to Diamond, and earn Dream Bonuses to spend on skins that exist nowhere else in the game.

Nopens the Arena window. You can also use the Arena tile in the F10 menu.

Before you queue

You can join the queue when your character:

Needs to be

  • Level 400 or higher
  • Alive, and not on an event map
  • Free: no trade, personal shop or duel open
  • Clear of any queue lockout (see penalties)

Can't be wearing

  • Any pet or mount: Guardian Angel, Imp, Uniria, Dinorant, Dark Horse, Fenrir
  • Any Transformation Ring, including the Panda Ring

You fight in your real gear. The matchmaker pairs you with players of similar rating and similar Gear Score, so a fresh character won't be thrown against a fully geared one. Your equipment is locked from the moment you queue until the match ends.

Only one character per PC can be in the arena queue or a match at a time.

Brackets

1v1

First to 3 kills

Played in rounds, like a classic duel. After each kill both players are healed, buffs are removed, cooldowns reset, and you both start again from your spawn points.

2v2

Last team standing

One life each. Queue solo and get a partner, or queue as a party of exactly 2 (the party leader presses queue).

3v3

Last team standing

One life each. Queue solo, or as a party of exactly 3. Solo teams avoid putting two of the same class together when they can.

Each bracket has its own rating, win/loss record and ladder.

A match, step by step

Stage Duration What happens
Queue — Press N and pick a bracket. Each card shows your rating, record, the number of players waiting and the average wait. The longer you wait, the wider the search gets, but Bronze and Diamond teams never meet.
Accept 30 s A chime plays and a crossed-swords icon appears. The popup shows both teams' Gear Score and rating. Press Accept. If someone declines or lets it time out, everyone else goes back to the front of the queue and keeps their waiting time.
Prepare 15 s You are teleported into the arena. HP, Mana, SD and AG are filled, all buffs are removed and skill cooldowns reset. You can't move or attack yet. Use this time to buff up.
Fight 5 min Enemies are marked red, your team blue. You don't need to hold Ctrl to attack. In 2v2 and 3v3, fallen players become invisible spectators for the rest of the match, or can press Leave to town.
Sudden death up to 2 min 2v2 and 3v3 only. If both teams are still standing after 5 minutes, everyone starts losing a percentage of their max life every second, and the drain grows every 30 seconds. If nobody falls, the team that dealt more damage wins.
Result 8 s The result box shows victory, defeat or draw, your rating change, and every player's kills, deaths and damage. You are then sent back to exactly where you queued from.

Rules inside the arena

Allowed

  • HP and Mana potions, with a 1 second cooldown between potions
  • All your skills and buffs

Not allowed

  • Shield (SD) potions and Complex potions
  • Town Portal scrolls, warps and gates
  • Trade, party invites and duels
  • MuHelper (switched off inside)

Stuns and roots wear off faster when repeated. Within an 18 second window on the same target, the 2nd stun lasts half as long, the 3rd a quarter, and the 4th doesn't land at all. Roots work the same way, counted separately from stuns. This covers Stun, Sleep, Earth Prison, pentagram stuns, Ice Arrow, Order of Restraint and the Ice Storm root.

Healing weakens in long team fights. In 2v2 and 3v3, from minute 3 potions heal 20% less for every minute that starts, down to a maximum of 80% less. Long stalemates end.

Rating and divisions

Everyone starts each bracket at 1500. Your first 5 matches in a bracket are placement matches: they move your rating faster, and you get no division, ladder spot or rewards until they're done. The Arena window shows your progress as "Qualifying 2/5".

Division Rating
Bronzebelow 1400
Silver1400+
Gold1600+
Platinum1800+
Diamond2000+

Diamond players carry a [ Diamond ] badge on their nameplate.

Behind your visible rating there's a hidden matchmaking rating that decides who you're paired with. If you're winning more than your rating suggests, you'll gain more points per win and lose fewer per loss until your rating catches up.

Beating the same team over and over pays less. Within 24 hours, the 2nd match against the same opponents gives 50% of the rating change, the 3rd gives 25% and the 4th onward gives nothing.

Rating decay: at the weekly reset, anyone above 1800 who played no rated match that week loses 50 points. Decay never takes you below 1800.

Rewards

Arena rewards are paid in Dream Bonuses. You earn them only in the arena and spend them at the Arena Shop.

Weekly division pay. Every Monday at 00:00 server time, each character who has finished placement in at least one bracket this season is paid based on their best division. There's no minimum number of matches per week.

Division Dream Bonuses / week
Bronze50
Silver100
Gold200
Platinum400
Diamond800

Season rewards. A season lasts 14 days. When it ends, the top 10 of each bracket (with at least 5 matches played) are paid, and the top 3 are announced to the whole server. The Arena window shows how many days are left.

Ladder rank Dream Bonuses
1st1000
2nd700
3rd500
4th to 10th250

The best players of a season also keep a nameplate title through the next one: [ Gladiator ] for the top 0.5% of a bracket (always at least the #1 player) and [ Top 10 ] for the rest of the top 10.

At the start of a new season every rating moves halfway back toward 1500. A 2100 player starts the new season at 1800, a 1300 player at 1400.

Arena Shop

Open it with the Arena Shop button in the N window. It sells four skin themes that can't be dropped or bought anywhere else. Each theme needs a minimum current-season division. Skins are applied at the Transmogrify NPC, like any other skin.

Theme Division needed Armor pieces Weapons Cloak / wings Mount skin
Bloody SoldierSilver+100150300–
BloodboundGold+2003005001200 Fenrir
HellfirePlatinum+3004007001200 Dark Horse
Fallen AngelDiamond4006001000–

Every theme covers all classes (male and female sets) plus shield. Shields cost the same as an armor piece.

Open to everyone, no division needed: Pollen 100, Dragon and Legendary dyes 200, Celestial 300.

Cards you can't buy yet are greyed out, and the price turns red when you're short on Dream Bonuses. Make sure you have free inventory space before buying.

Leaving and penalties

Declining a match, letting the accept timer run out, walking out of a match or disconnecting and not coming back all count as leaving. You lose the match (if one had started) and get a queue lockout that grows through the day:

Leave of the day Queue lockout
1st5 min
2nd15 min
3rd and later60 min

Relogging doesn't clear a lockout.

Disconnected? Log back in within 90 seconds and you're put straight back into your match. After 90 seconds it counts as a loss and a leave.

Watching & ladder

Watching matches

The N window lists live matches. Press Watch to join as an invisible spectator (up to 10 per match). Press Stop watching on your screen to leave.

Ladder and match history

Press B to open Death Records. The arena tabs show the top 50 of each bracket with your exact rank, and MY MATCHES lists your last 20 matches: opponents, result, kills and deaths, rating change and length.

On the website, open Rankings → Arena for the full ladder, last season's podium, class win rates, and a page for every player with their match history.

FAQ

I can't click Queue. Why?

Check the list under Before you queue. The usual causes are a pet or Transformation Ring still equipped, an active lockout, or another character from your PC already in the arena.

Can I change gear between rounds in 1v1?

No. Your equipment is locked from queue until the match ends. Choose your set before you queue.

My partner and I want to play together in 2v2.

Form a party of exactly 2 and have the leader queue. Premade parties are paired with other premade parties first, and only meet solo teams after about two minutes of searching.

Do I get anything per win?

Not directly. Wins raise your rating, your rating sets your division, and your division sets your weekly pay and the skins you can buy.
